WORKSHOP

"As scientists work further with the descending fellow researcher work or invention, Engineers also learn from mistakes and his previous investigation."

Workshop is main part of applied Engineering and considered as heart of the Mechanical department. For us Workshop means a place of worship, where we skill the hands. Workshop contains state-of-art equipment, qualified and experienced staff. At present we have eight shops equipped with state-of-art equipment. We are planning to establish two advance shops to fulfill industrial requirements.

Carpentry and Pattern making shop: In this shop students can learn about different types of wood and their application preparation and patterns design and manufacturing techniques. Basically this is a shop for part of Foundry technology.

Foundry shop: In this shop students are exposed to casting methods to produce different types of components with modern technology. In addition to state–of-art equipment and furnaces, we are also going to equip this shop with latest machines.

Forging shop: In this shop students are trained in hot working and cold working. They are exposed to diffrent types of tools & equipments and their applications in Forging.

Sheet metal: In this shop students can learn and make different types of tools and produce sheet metal components of various shapes and sizes.

Fitting: In this shop students are exposed to different types of fitting operations and are given enough knowledge to fulfill the industrial requirements.

Machine shop: In this shop students work on the different machines like lathes, milling, shaper, grinding, center less grinder, surface grinder, slotter etc. This shop is the heart of the workshop and equipped with latest jigs and fixtures machine tools alongwith cutting tools.

Welding shop: This shop is equipped with the arc welding machines, gas welding apparatus and a number of measuring and testing devices. In addition to experiments students are also exposed to welding work in construction & fabrication.

Metrology shop: It provides opportunity to train the students in using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometer, protractor etc. This lab has great importance as it is heart of the inspection department in every industry.
