Popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched
in Gandhi ji’s year, 1969. NSS is a voluntary association of young
people in colleges, universities and at 10+2 level working for a
campus-community linkage for overall personality development through
community services and interaction. It is organized by the students
themselves, and both teachers and students through their combined
efforts in the community services get a sense of involvement in the
task of nation building :
This scheme was launched mainly to achieve
following objectives :
-
To identify the needs and problems
of the community so that they may apply their
education in the practical solution of these problems.

responsibilities so that they may acquire leadership qualities and
