After completing
school education, students often find themselves at
crossroads of the world of careers. They not only have to
choose a career / stream, but also have to select the right
college that helps them to translate their dreams into
reality. Fortunately, Northern India has a fairly large number
of good engineering colleges today which gives the students
a wide choice in making their selection.
In 1995, when
the concept of free and paid seats began in north India, the
quantum of fee used to be the main criterion for selecting
an engineering college. This was not a healthy sign, and for
obvious reasons, the students were constrained to compromise
on quality.
Following the judgment by
the Hon’ble Supreme Court, AICTE has done away with the system of ‘free’
and ‘paid’ seats. This is a welcome step and with the uniform rate of
fee in all engineering colleges of the state, merit and credibility of the
colleges have become the decisive factor in the student’s choice.
The BRCM College of
Engineering & Technology today stands on the top pedestal in terms of
merit and credibility. In a short span of six years, it has made rapid
strides and has carved a niche amongst leading and reputed technical
institutions of India.
Teaching at BRCM does not
follow the rigidity of syllabus prescribed by the University. Rather, it
goes far beyond the curriculum and students are additionally given
hands-on experience on state-of-the-art software tools used by R&D
departments of leading industries across the globe. The unique
facilities provided include CAD/CAM Lab, Computer Hardware Lab, VHDL
Software Tool ORCAD P-spice Software, etc., to mention only a few.
Besides studies, BRCM
stresses on extra – mural and co-curricular activities, so as to
inculcate competitive spirit among the students, enhance their
technical skills and sharpen their intution to become positive persons.
It is indeed gratifying that
a large number of students graduating from BRCM are placed
in different organizations like Infosys, Birla Soft, Escorts, HCL
Technology, BPO Info System, Hughes Software, Jai Bharat Martui, Jindal,
Mahindra, British Telecom, Moser Baer, Polaris, Reliance, RICCO,
Samsung, Siemens, TCS, Wipro etc through on campus/off-campus interviews
organized by our Training & Placement Cell.
I am sure with these
initiatives, soon BRCM will be recognized among
the leading Engineering Institutes world over.
